California Children's Services (CCS)

CCS provides case management, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative services for children with qualifying medical conditions. The Program arranges for, authorizes and pays for medical care, equipment, and rehabilitation for children who qualify for the Program.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for Services?

The child must have an eligible medical condition and meet financial and residential criteria. All families must apply for Medi-Cal and complete an application process. Families must be residents of Calaveras County.
 
Services must be provided by an approved physician or facility.

Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM


There are no fees if the child is covered by Medi-Cal or Healthy Families. If the family’s income is over 100% of the poverty level, there may be annual assessment and enrollment fees.

Direct care services are provided by the child’s medical specialist or at Special Care Centers (larger medical centers).

Children who have serious physically handicapping medical conditions; cancer, diseases involving the heart, blood, endocrine diseases such as diabetes, diseases of the nervous system or muscular system, diseases of the eye, hearing loss, diseases of the immune system, burns, trauma, diseases of the respiratory system such as cystic fibrosis, premature infants, and serious kidney problems
