Community Action

"Local people solve local problems best."

The Alliance for Substance Awareness Prevention Coalition (ASAP) works to create communities that are free from addiction. We bring together community members, experts, and supporters to educate, raise awareness, and speak out against substance misuse and addiction. Some of our projects include:

  • Advocating for policies to protect youth from the dangers of nicotine products.
  • Ensuring access to resources for those dealing with substance misuse.
  • Plan and host events such as walkathons to raise awareness of substance misuse issues and bring community members together.

Join us for our quarterly meetings at the Calaveras County Health and Human Services building in San Andreas and other community centers around the county, or attend virtually! Reach out to Calaveras County Public Health for more information.

Teen Link Calaveras (TLC) is a team of Calaveras County teens who speak up about tobacco issues, share health information, and help connect people to services and opportunities in their community.

Teens who take part can earn up to $50 in gift cards, get reference letters for jobs, college, or scholarships, and earn community service hours, all while speaking up for change and working with other teens who want to make a difference!
