Maternal Child Adolescent Health (MCAH)

The MCAH program works to improve the health and wellbeing of women, children, and families in Calaveras County. We provide support, resources, and services to help families thrive, from pregnancy through childhood and adolescence.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program

WIC helps income-eligible families access healthy food and nutrition education. You may qualify if you are:

  • A pregnant woman
  • A woman breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age
  • A woman who had a baby or was pregnant in the past 6 months
  • A parent or guardian caring for a baby up to their first birthday
  • A parent or guardian caring for a child up to their fifth birthday

You may also qualify if you receive Medi-Cal, CalWORKs (TANF), or CalFresh (SNAP) benefits. Working families and migrant families are welcome to apply.

Welcome Baby Kits

We provide Welcome Baby Kits to help new parents get started with their newborn.

Home Visiting Program

Our Home Visiting Program offers support right in your home. Our trained staff:

  • Provide information about pregnancy and child development
  • Help you prepare for your baby's arrival
  • Offer guidance about infant care and parenting
  • Connect you with community resources
  • Support your family's health and wellbeing
