What We Do
At Calaveras County Public Health, we believe in understanding our community to serve it better. Our Epidemiology & Informatics Unit plays a key role in this mission.
Our team collects and studies data about health in our county. We do this in several ways:
- We conduct surveys to learn directly from our community members
- We analyze data from trusted sources like the California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
- We look at hospital data to spot disease outbreaks early
We also study things like:
- How many people get certain diseases
- What health problems are most common
- How our community's health changes over time
We use all this information to:
- Find out what health issues are most important in Calaveras County
- Create programs that can really help our community
- Make sure our work is based on solid evidence
- Quickly respond to any disease outbreaks
Sharing Our Findings
We believe in being open with our community. From time to time, we make some of our data and reports public. In this section of our website, you can find:
- Dashboards that show health trends
- Reports on different health topics
- Posters we've created to share important health information
These tools help everyone understand the health of our county better.
Why It Matters
By doing research and analyzing data from various sources, we can:
- Spot health trends and potential outbreaks early
- Plan better health programs
- Use our resources where they're needed most
- Respond quickly to protect our community's health
Our goal is to make decisions that will improve the health of everyone in Calaveras County. We do this by basing our choices on real facts and figures about our community.
Through our work and by sharing our findings, we aim to make Calaveras County a healthier place for all who live here.
