Child Passenger Safety Program

The Child Passenger Safety Program provides car seat assessments, education, fittings and replacement seats through a certified car seat technician. The primary focus of the program is to establish community knowledge about child vehicle safety and car/booster seat recommendations and provide access to low/no-cost car seats.

Who is Eligible for Program Services?

Families of children 0-8 years of age who request a car seat assessment, fitting or replacement.

Seats are not available to organizations or businesses.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for Services?

Families in need of a car seat or booster seat, seat assessment & fitting. Families are required to receive the education and fittings in order to receive car seat replacements.
A seat can be provided for the main vehicle that transports the child. Supplemental seats for second vehicles are not available through the program.

When are the Services Available & Cost?

Car seats are provided by appointment Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am – 4pm.

There is no cost for the assessment, education or fitting services. No one is denied services due to inability to pay.

Where are the Services Provided?

Car seat appointments are at the Calaveras County Public Health main office  located at 700 Mountain Ranch Road, Suite C2, in San Andreas, CA 95249.
